If any of you have played Square Enix's Drakengard series at all, you'll know what's in store, but for those who haven't, check this out. In the game world, humans can make a pact with almost any sort of mythical creature, sharing a soul with that creature (referred to as the pact beast). In exchange for mutually increased power that grows over time, the human and pact beast can telepathically converse with each other and with others who have made pacts.

The pact beast's form changes as time goes on and the pair grows through personal experience. There are a total of four stages of development, each one more powerful than the last. The first through third stages are simply called "level 1/2/3." The fourth and final stage is characterized by a particularly distinct change in the pact beast's appearance and is given a different name entirely.

The cost for this is great, however: should one pact member die, the other dies as well, but more importantly, the human (and only the human) must give something personal up, bearing some sort of mark on an appropriate place on his or her body. What the human gives up is unknown until the pact is made, but it is often one of the senses (sight, hearing, etc.), a body part, or something of deep personal significance. For this reason, pacts are usually made only when the participants (usually the human) are near death or otherwise have nothing to lose.

Well, this sounds like a meme if ever there were one! Sooo...here's some rules:
* You can tag up to three people, and you can't be tagged back. The tagged must state:
* Their sacrifice.
* Their mark.
* Their pact beast.
* How their pact beast changes.

I'll use the first Drakengard's main character as an example. Not really any spoilers since you find this out in the first stage. Also, please forgive me if I miss some stuff for the dragoness's forms: it's been a long time since I played the game.

Sacrifice: Speech.
Mark: Small circle on tongue.
Pact beast: Red dragoness.
Level 1: The classic mythical beast. Very long tail (almost as long as the rest of the body). Technically a wyvern as she has wings in place of forelegs, but only anal retentive assholes (like me) care.
Level 2: As before, but larger and darker red.
Level 3: Again, larger and darker red. Also, the end of the tail glows as if covered in embers.
Chaos: Smaller than the level 3 form. Deep red, almost black, in color. The end of the tail glows as if hot iron, and the end has split into small, twin hooks. The flesh on the face is gone, revealing most of the skull (one can even see into the mouth from the sides).
